Mission and Operations
Seminary of the Rockies’ purpose is to attract and prepare men and women for the ministry in the mainline church. Understanding that the mainline church continues to struggle overall with declining membership and often the inability to draw younger people into the church, Seminary of the Rockies will focus exclusively on training its students to work in the church as pastors and in specialized ministries, such as children, youth, and music.
The seminary’s operations will be unique in the sense that many of its teachers will be well-known pastors and leaders in current mainline churches, who will teach in areas that are most relevant to the church -- preaching, worship, teaching, administration, leadership, counseling, youth, and music. Biblical studies, theology and history will be taught by professors in the permanent faculty. In addition, Seminary of the Rockies will regularly invite leaders in other fields -- industry, education, and others -- to conduct seminars on the intangibles of success in the ministry, such as leadership and attitude, just to mention a few.
Seminary of the Rockies is located in a beautiful mountain community, which offers tremendous opportunities for outdoor adventure, fantastic recreational options and access to the University of Colorado, well-known for its outstanding educational culture.
Accepted students will receive a full tuition grant for three years. The Seminary will recommend appropriate and affordable housing in Boulder.
